The MICROSPACE® computer systems for military applications are extremely robust and protected. The MPCX27MIL computer can therefore be totally immersed in water. Military connectors are used. The operating temperature range is -40 to +85 degrees Celsius and achieves the highest vibration and shock resistance. Additionally, a 3D acceleration sensor is built into the MPCX27MIL product family allowing measurement in each axel of values from 1mG to 6G. For expandability, a PCI/104-Express slot is available with 48 reserve input and output signals over a MIL connector. These computers include optional GPS, GSM-UMTS and WLAN.

The MPCX27MIL is well sealed against water and has waterproof MIL cable connections. A flash disk is built-in (SATA 40GB SSD or optional CompactFlash) for mass storage. The Atom processor offers high computer performance with only 12 Watt power consumption. For expansion, optional GPS, GSM and WLAN with waterproof N-type antenna connectors are available. Functional expansion is possible with an internal PCI/104express card and the signals use a 48pin MIL connector. A very robust aluminum housing integrates passive, fanless cooling to allow a broad working temperature range.
